Privacy Policy

Effective: October 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how WrongfulDeathLawyers.com (“we”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through www.wrongfuldeathlawyers.com (the “Site”), and the choices and rights you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Case review requests: your name, email, phone number, state, your relationship to the deceased, the date and general cause of the incident, and any description you choose to provide.
  • Attorney applications: name, firm, contact details, bar number, licensing states, and the states you wish to advertise in.
  • Communications: anything you send us by email or otherwise.

Please do not include sensitive details such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or detailed medical records in our forms. Information about a death or injury may be considered sensitive under some laws. We use it only to provide the service you request.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Information from cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy.

2. How we use information

  • To share your request with participating attorneys in your state so they can contact you.
  • To send you confirmations and service-related messages.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to prevent fraud and spam.
  • To manage attorney advertiser accounts, billing, and lead delivery.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

3. How we share information

  • Participating attorneys. When you submit a case review request, we share it with one or more independent attorneys or law firms that advertise in your state. This is the purpose of the service, and you direct us to do it. Those attorneys use your information under their own privacy practices and professional obligations.
  • Service providers that host the Site, store data, send email, process payments, and protect against spam, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, legal process, or government requests, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing your request with attorneys who pay to advertise on the Site could be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws. We do this only at your direction, when you ask to be contacted by an attorney.

4. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Know or access the personal information we have about you, and receive a portable copy.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: email privacy@wrongfuldeathlawyers.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share.” We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
  • Appeal our decision on your request by replying to our response.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@wrongfuldeathlawyers.com. We will verify your request using the information you provided, and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent with written permission. Please note that information already delivered to an independent attorney is held by that attorney. Contact them directly to exercise rights with respect to their records.

Communications: you can opt out of calls or texts from any attorney by telling them so (for texts, reply STOP). You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails using the link in the email.

5. Data retention

We keep case review requests and related records for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records of consent, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations (generally up to five years), then delete or de-identify them.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Requests involving a deceased minor should be submitted by a parent, guardian, or legal representative.

8. California notice at collection

Categories collected: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); personal records; information about the incident you describe; internet activity; and approximate geolocation (state). Purposes: those listed in Section 2. Disclosed to: participating attorneys and service providers. Retention: see Section 5. In the past 12 months we have disclosed these categories to the recipients described in Section 3. California residents may also request information about disclosures for direct-marketing purposes under Civil Code §1798.83.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. The “Effective” date above shows the latest revision.
